HOW TO PIN RECIPES IN CHOP CHOP INC
Pin recipes from a crafting station so their required components remain visible while you collect materials and move between production steps.
To pin a recipe, open the Recipe Book, select the recipe you want to make, and use its pin control. Its required materials then remain visible on the HUD while you gather components. The unmodified release supports one pinned recipe; pinning another replaces the current one.
Where the Pin Option Appears
Open the Recipe Book rather than relying on the abbreviated crafting-station list. Select the intended item and use the visible pin control to add its requirements to the HUD. A developer response says recipe pinning and unpinning were made easier for the release version than in the demo.
The research material does not provide a verified keyboard or controller shortcut for pinning. Do not rely on a shortcut copied from a different game or an older interface build. If the expected control is not visible, confirm that you are viewing the full recipe details rather than only the station's general item list.
What a Pinned Recipe Tracks
A pinned recipe works as a visible material checklist. It helps you see which parts are still missing while you chop wood, process logs, buy a component, or move through a longer production chain. This is especially useful once furniture requires pieces made at more than one station.
Pinning does not create the item or reserve materials automatically. You still need to collect, process, and insert the required components through the normal crafting flow. The feature is organizational: it keeps the recipe requirements in view while you perform those steps.
Using Pins During Production
Choose one immediate production goal before pinning several recipes. Follow the missing materials from raw resource to processed component, then return to the correct station when the list is complete. This keeps the pinned information useful instead of turning it into a crowded collection of unrelated requirements.
The broader crafting material describes a loop of chopping, processing, crafting, selling, and reinvesting. A recipe pin is most valuable in the middle of that loop, where a missing plank, processed material, screw, or other component can stop an otherwise ready project. Use the list to identify the actual bottleneck rather than continuing to gather resources you already have.
Multiple Pinned Recipes
The unmodified game allows one pinned recipe at a time. The third-party Multiple Pinned Recipes mod exists specifically to remove that limit; its page documents up to ten simultaneous pins and a default of three. Those numbers belong to the mod, not the base game.
If you use modifications, verify that they match your game version and understand that their interface may differ from the base game. This page describes the confirmed purpose of recipe pinning, not the installation or behavior of a third-party mod. Troubleshooting modified pin lists requires the mod's own documentation.
When a Pin Does Not Update
First confirm that you collected the exact component named by the recipe rather than an earlier resource in its processing chain. A log, plank, processed wood part, and finished furniture component are different production states. The list may remain incomplete until the required state is present.
If a tracked requirement appears stale, reopen the Recipe Book, unpin the recipe, and pin it again after comparing the displayed requirements with your inventory. Avoid discarding valuable components based only on an interface mismatch.
Direct Answer
Open the Recipe Book, select the target recipe, and activate its pin control. Gather the displayed materials, process them into the exact required components, and return to the correct station to craft the item. The base game tracks one recipe; another pin replaces it.
Source Record
The one-pin base-game limit is supported by the developer reply in Demo feedback and by the documented purpose of Multiple Pinned Recipes. Mod installation is not required for normal pinning.
